Dr Teo Wan Lin is a board-certified dermatologist, entrepreneur and founder of 7-figure beauty brand Dr.TWL Dermaceuticals. Widely regarded as a thought leader in the Asian beauty sphere, her podcast Dermatologist Talks: Science of Beauty has collaborated with industry giants like Amore-Pacific, L’Oréal Paris and LVMH, amongst others. As a beauty KOL, Dr Teo is known for her scientific partnerships with Dior Beauty. She was featured in international media for Dior’s Digital Skincare Talks in 2020, hosted by Philip Picardi and Gisele Bündchen.

A model turned dermatologist, Dr Teo is a well-known personality in Asia with various media appearances including CNN, Byrdie, Harpers Bazaar, Women’s Weekly, Elle and L’Officiel, amongst others. As a beauty KOL, Dr Teo is known for her scientific partnerships with Dior Beauty. As the key dermatologist involved in Dior’s Digital Skincare Talks in 2020 hosted by Philip Picardi and Gisele Bündchen, Dr Teo was featured by international media outlets for her expertise on skin of color as part of the Capture Totale Serum campaign. She also has a presence in Japan—where she has collaborated with the nation’s top beauty magazine Be-Story (Kobunsha Corp.).

Dr Teo is the author of multiple peer-reviewed papers on acne and the skin microbiome published in leading journals such as the top ranked Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. Her current research includes that in the field of the brain-skin-axis, which explores themes of body dysmorphophobia in the age of cosmetic dermatology. Her 2021 commentary “On Thoughts, Emotions, Facial Expressions and Aging”, published in the International Journal of Dermatology is a position paper highlighting the intersection of philosophy, psychology and biology in the perception of aging faces.  

“Shibumi—Acerbic Beauty of the Aged Face”, an exploration of the aging face through the lens of the Eastern aesthetic philosophy of Shibumi was published in the Journal of Medical Ethics (British Medical Journal) in July 2024. “The Aging Face is a Fractal—It’s Pi π, not Phi φ” is a followup work published in 2025 in the International Journal of Dermatology and Venereology (Lippincott Journals/Wolters-Kluwer).
